Broadside Adventures Pro-Staff member Wil Askew traveled to southern Oregon to hunt with renowned bear hunting guide Tim Pickett of Southern Oregon Outfitters. The action was fast and furious as Wil and guest hunter Rob Kaiser pursued bears in some of the west’s toughest country. “I knew we were going to have an amazing hunt,” explains Askew. “Tim was highly recommended by numerous people as the best bear guide in the west – now I see why.”

As the Broadside cameras panned over the Oregon Mountains and filmed 13 bears in a matter of hours. “Bear season in Oregon is very popular, and you need to have a solid game plan if you want to be successful. Tim and his staff had scouted out numerous locations to ensure a quality hunt,” states Askew.

Tim’s spring and fall bear hunts are all spot and stalk as baiting for bears has been banned. “Bear hunting is easy if you put in the time to learn their habits and food sources, we fill many tags,” explains Tim. In addition for being known as an excellent bear guide, Tim guides for various species of big game that include Blacktail Deer, Mule deer, Columbian Whitetail deer and bobcats with hound dogs during the winter months. His success rate is amazing.
